It shows very good resistance to fatigue. It is low cost, has good impact resistance. It has a low friction coefficient and provides very good electrical insulation. Chemical resistance is good. It is suitable for all thermoplastic processing processes. The melting temperature of polypropylene is around 160 degrees.
However, it has the following disadvantages. It has low resistance to UV rays and shows high thermal expansion. It is difficult to paint and coat. It has low resistance to external weather conditions and is open to oxidation. It is flammable and interacts with solvents containing chlorine.
